the longest day of the year in the northern hemisphere is around june 21.?

yet the warmest summer days do not occur until july or august. the shortest day of the year is around december 21. yet the oldest winter days do not occur unti january or february. how can you explain these delays in hottest and coolest weather?

The longest day in the Northern Hemisphere is June 21st and you are correct in saying that the hottest temps of the Summer occur much later. The reason for this is because up until we reach the max temps, the Sun’s radiation has been mostly warming up the Earth’s surface from when it was frozen in the Winter. The incoming Sun’s radiation is effectively concentrated in the ground, heating the ground up. This is also a daily event as well because although the Sun’s max height in the sky occurs at noon (1PM in daylight savings time) the Sun’s incoming shortwave radiation is heating up the ground and then this heat is reflected back into the atmosphere as long wave (heat radiation) and that is why during Summer the hottest past of the day is typically in late afternoon.

It is a little different during our Winter as the Coldet day usually occurs near the beginning of January just 10 days after the shortest day of the year.

What is a reasonable amount of money to spend on a shopping spree (per person)?

On Summer Solistice my BFF and I want to go on a summer kick of shopping party/spree but I seriously have no money. School ends tommorrow so I blew my chance to sell anything at school. Boo You if you say lemonade stand because my managment doesn’t allow them. I need a reasonable amount of $$$$$. Plz!
Sorry the lemonade stand thing was supposed to go in a different question. I need a new summer wardrobe and I really think my friends clothing sucks and she hates hers to. Plus we are very stressed so we might go loose at the mall. Did a say we are getting a whole wardrobe? We don’t like tor epeat outfits that often.

Like 100-300$.

how do i find ERIKA who’s question was used to answer the question asked about winter soltice & its meaning ?

i read a question about what is winter soltice? and how does it relate in the way of a holiday? her answer was she is wiccan and was able to correctly explain that in the wiccan community , the winter soltice is called yule, which i know for a fact is correct. then she went on to explain that many of todays christmas "traditions" are actually wiccan traditions that christians adopted as their own traditions while they were trying to convert the wiccans to christianity.i wanted know her stance on "christian wiccans"? has she ever heard of such? is it possible? i praticed wicca briefly a few years ago when something drastic happened in my life that both life threatening and life changing, in which my rescurers convinced me to revert back to christianity. but i cant help but feel like a "wandering soul in search" . in other words, since i have discovered bible passages that coincide with beliefs from BOTH faiths, is it possible to be a "christian wiccan" sinca wicca is a faith based on

Looks like I found your question :)

I have indeed heard of Christian Wiccans. A lot of them call themselves "Christo-Pagan". Though some people, especially of the Christian faith, may tell you that you can’t follow both, I do think it is possible. God/Goddess/Jesus/Allah/Buddha/(insert Divine name here) has many faces, and each person needs to find their own personal path, even if it is outside the usual boundaries of religion. We really wouldn’t have so many belief systems if this weren’t true.

Good luck in your spiritual search :)

Would you tell that guy to get down from the cross if we needed the lumber?

If we were building life boats and we needed the wood would you do what it takes to survive or conform to intangible emotional solice.

If it happened in 2010, I’d be like whoa, what the **** is that guy doing nailing himself to a couple of sticks? Then I’d probably say like, bro, I understand you’re trying to make a statement here, but I think you should lay off the shrooms because we need those boards to build a boat, mkay?

I’m looking into a convertible but I have a few issues that I need help with!!?

My car is going to die soon so I’m on the hunt for a new one. I definitely want a convertible, but the soft top issue bothers me. I don’t like how it’s easy to cut through them and if something heavy lands on the top, forget it…you’re done. So I’m mainly looking for one with a retractable hard top. I really like the Pontiac Solistice but it’s a bit more expensive than what I’m going for. I really like the Mazda Miata but it’s only a two seater…I’m wondering if it’s a bad idea to get a two seater? Not just for the fact that you can only have one other person in your car, but because of safety issues.

Any tips or other cars you can recommend me? I’m looking for the 25,000 and under range. I know that’s hard with convertibles but I just want to see what else is out there before I make any final decisions. Thanks!!

hey here is a list of the consumer reported "best hardtop convertibles" or at least the top 10… personally I would go for the VW EOS.. it is about 27k but im sure you could get them down on it
